Alienware R17

Have an interesting one for you guys.

I've had my AWR17 for a few years now, bought it new and have never had an issue until now. I think it is related to the battery being on its last legs, but lately pressing the power button it doesn't power up, taking the power cable out and then pressing the power button it comes on. But also, if you have a couple of goes with the power cord connected it takes 3 or 4 goes before it finally starts.

Any thoughts?

I am think since the battery is just about done, that maybe the issue

What kinda computer model is it?

    because the R17 isn’t a computer.

Quick Tip: If your laptop has voltage / charging issues, try shutting it down, unplugging power from laptop, hold power button down for 30 seconds to do a full reset!

Hi @Portfoxdesign strange things can happen when your main battery power is very low. Did you create your Win10 Battery Report? (Here) You may find that your problems go away after a new main battery is installed.

Belarc Advisor builds a detailed profile of your network inventory, missing Microsoft hotfixes, anti-virus status, security benchmarks, and displays the results in your Web browser. To get your computer profile, download Belarc Advisor from Here.

Run the ePSA diagnostics to find out your battery remaining health using the system information tab. Start by restarting the computer and clicking the F12 key and selecting ePSA diagnostic.

Thanks for the tip on the powershell command.

Yep, 17min by the 'Battery life estimate' on the report, disconnected the power and i get 5min before the 'connect power cord' message pops up.

    New battery time.

    Thanks for the help guys.
