IntelliGo drivers incompatibility with SteelSeriesGG software.

Already had an Arctis Nova Pro Wired when got the notebook, just after I powered it up for the first time I've installed SteelSeriesGG, the audio software for SteelSeries products and it just simply didn't worked, wasn't having any audio at all, found out later in SteelSeries forum that many people had this same issue, the problem being IntelliGo software and it's drivers, so I uninstalled it alongside it's drivers, making the headset software work pefectly, however, a week later the IntelliGo drivers reinstalled automaticaly, so I had to keep uninstalling it, nowadays when starting the notebook the drivers are already installed, when this problem happens and I can't listen anything when using the software even with it showing that there's audio on the exit. Changing my headset isn't an option and I really want to use the software for it.

Appreciate any idea trying to help.

Thank you!

The model is a M16 R1, with Windows 11 as the operating system.

Hi @GbNini welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Dell Community search did not find another SteelSeriesGG audio driver thread and there is no Dell Community gaming software board.

Internet search reveals that Dell are aware of this driver issue with many different laptop models, but has no fix or solution.

Having discovered the fix to reinstate sound on your Alienware M16 R1 with Windows 11, the automatic Windows driver update keeps removing your fix. You can prevent this specific driver Windows Update by setting the Group Policy to "Prevent installation of devices that match any of these device IDs". Please remember that once you enable this Solution you will not be able to update this specific driver, neither automatically via Windows Update, nor manually by applying a downloaded driver, for as long as this Group Policy is in force

Hi, just tried it but all removed drivers keeps reinstalling themselves anyway, also tried including another group policy of "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" later, alongside the one you suggested but also didn't got any luck from that.

Anyway thanks for the suggestion, really thought that it would work.

Hi @GbNini thank you for sharing update.

This group policy solution requires a minimum of local admin privilege. Seemingly you will have to use the all powerful hidden Administrator account in Windows 11 to enable this specific Group Policy.

Just enabled the administrator account and went straight setting the group policies all over again, however the drivers keep reinstalling themselves when rebooting.

Also tried with the "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" group policy and disabling the intelligo Audio Service, but also got no luck.

The drivers and it's respective Id's are

    APO's

    intelliGo Audio Processing Object:    SWC\VEN_IGO&CID_APO

    Software Components

    intelliGo Audio Service Component:    SWC\VEN_IGO&AUDIOSERVICE

    intelliGo Hardware Support Application:    SWC\VEN_IGO&HID_IGOHSA

I've also noticed tthat there's another APO device called DolbyAPO SWC Device which hardware ID also start with the "tag" SWC/VEN

I don't know if this information is helpful and don't have much knowledge about this topic but do you think that it have some relation to it?

Same thing. Neither SteelSeries Arctis 7 nor THX Barracuda X work with Alienware X17 R2 due to an incompatibility with the IntelliGo driver/device.
