m15 R1, second battery
This is the second time having swollen battery. I bought extended warranty and now they tell me the battery is out of warranty.

had my battery replace under warranty, now it's swollen again, mouse don't work. i purchased extended warranty but it doesn't cover battery..what a scam
I would recommend you just buy a replacement one and make sure to keep the temperatures down. Plus disable express charging in the bios and leave it to auto. Then it shouldn’t swell but Incase it does then make sure Dell sends you their battery so you can prove them wrong.

The battery warranty is valid for first year only, irrespective of any extended warranty. Dell regards the battery as a consumable. You can purchase a battery replacement service, but this is expensive. Laptops with no battery are designed to function as Desktop on ac power.
Alienware m15 laptops have Hybrid Power Design. When system is under a heavy loading, both ac adapter and battery power are used to maintain high performance. When the battery capacity is low, system throttling can be encountered.
Swollen battery can burst and chemicals can destroy humans, the laptop enclosure, etc. Storing old battery in laptop is not recommended. ensure safe disposal. Handling swollen Lithium-ion batteries | Dell US
