Testing a FSN

We have two new NS960's.

Each has 8 network ports per data mover and configured as such.

All the virtual names were created using the GUI.

LACP0 = cge1-0, 1-1, 2-0, 2-1

FSN0 = cge1-2

Current config shows

*** FSN fsn0: Link is Up ***
active=lacp0 primary=lacp0 standby=cge-1-2

So, when I take the ports down (cge1-0, 1-1, 2-0, 2-1) using the command

.server_config server_2 -v "bcm cge-x-x down"

I see all the ports from the Celerra go down, and the ACTIVE link switch over to the standby (cge1-2), but I do not get any network connectivity for any CIFS.  Basically, I cannot ping any of the IP addresses assigned to FSN0.

Any ideas why?

    Yeah, all ports in the LACP are in the same VLAN and the FSN is also.

    I thought I read somewhere that if there is physical connetivity, that it might not fail over to the FSN.  Am I wrong there?  Also, by taking down the ports on the Celerra with the command that I mentioned, is that the same as disconnecting the port?

    Is that LACP protocol supported on the other switch ?

    Unplug the cables or down the ports on the switch side

    [nasadmin@THIDPNS03 ~]$ server_sysconfig server_2 -v

    server_2 :

    Virtual devices:

    fsn2a active=trk0 primary=trk0 standby=trk1

    trk1 devices=cge-3-2 cge-3-3 rotocol=lacp

    trk0 devices=cge-2-0 cge-2-1 cge-2-2 cge-2-3 cge-3-0 cge-3-1 rotocol=lacp

    fsn failsafe nic devices : fsn2a

    trk trunking devices : trk0 trk1

    How can we bring the trk0 down at one go?

    by this command:cge-2-0 cge-2-1 cge-2-2 cge-2-3 cge-3-0 cge-3-1

    .server_config server_2 -v "bcm cge-2-0 cge-2-1 cge-2-2 cge-2-3 cge-3-0 cge-3-1 down"

    please sugggest?

    I was aware of the first resolution (Unplug the cables ),but thanks for the second option as well (down the ports on the switch side)

    Thank you very much!

    You’re welcome

    I think doing this outside of the VNX is actually a better test – closer to reality than downing the interfaces on the VNX
