Constantly rebooting: you actually see the LEDs starting to blink at 1/4 Hz, then at 1 Hz and finally at 4 Hz and then all over again starting at 1/4 Hz?
Hmmmm.
Try setting up a serial PPP connection (115200, 8N1, hardware flow control) to the serial port (not the one for connecting to the SPS) and go to http://192.168.1.1/setup. No login required. You should be able to see the ip addresses.
A rolling reboot however isn't good. I assume there's no support contract anymore? You could try a live chat and ask this question to an EMC representative. They have access to ETAs and know their way much better than I.
Rolling Reboot(s) generally ends up with either SP Replacement or SP Reimage, depending on the scenario. Involving Support ASAP would be the great idea here to expedite the issue!
That's easy: simply call the EMC emergency number and log a call. They will tell you if the machine is still in support. If not, they won't help you until you sign a T&M (Time and Material) contract.
If you don't have the number handy somewhere, call your reseller / partner and have them give it to you.
there should be a short cable that plugs into the back of the array - if that is missing, this is the wiring - P2 is the DB9. The EMC part number is 118032349 REV A04:
