The clone_activate operation is not a valid operation on this operating sys
I am trying to activate a clone on a new host using admsnap clone_activate. The following message is returned:
Scanning for new devices.
The clone_activate operation is not a valid operation on this operating system.
When I issue the powermt command to display all devices, I do not see the cloned luns. I'm not sure what I am missing. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the foums. Can you tell us a little bit more about your CLARiiON setup as well as what is your Host OS?
Have you tried rebooting your Server? I assume you have already synchronized, fractured and presented the clone to the Server's Storage Group.

We did end up rebooting and now I can see the luns via admsnap list and powermt display dev=all, however, the os still does not see them and I keep getting the same response.

Your choices are either to reboot the server or unload and load the HBA driver.

As for why the OS behaving the way it is maybe one of the Linux gurus on the forum could shed some light on it...

I'm seeing more and more news letters coming that mention CX4-80 and so. Especially on searchstorage.com

I think an EMC CE told me once of a customer where a Symm fell though the lifted floor and was still running after that incident. Not even a singlle disk failed !
