adding extra space compellent / waranty
Hi,
We want to add some extra ssd's to our sc3020.
You can find a lot of ssd's when you google for the partnumber, some are 'refurbished' and some 'new pull'
We have active support on the sc3020, I'm wondering does the support cover adding extra ssd's ?
I can't really find the official dell policy.

Hello Stephan The Valley,
Disk drives are considered CRU (Customer Replaceable Unit). Technicians do not come out to add drives but you can certainly have them on the phone during your maintenance window while you are adding drives.
You may also contact a local service provider if you need.

The existing support will not cover disks you have not bought from dell or a dell partner for your SC.
A disk from another SC will only work if they is removed properly and even than the existing FW or SCOS can make a difference.
On paper you can buy parts for your SC until 8/2024 from Dell.
Regards,
Joerg
