you can look for the vendor ID (first 3 digits of HBA addresses) for HBAs logged into the switch. it will be same for all Emulex HBAs...

No, I know what the WWNs of the Emulex cards are. What I am trying to do is eliminate them as objects in the FabricManager database. In other words, when I look at the topology map in FabricManager and I see disconnected HBAs on switch ports (with red 'X' through them). Those HBAs are gone from our environment and I want to remove any reference to them in FabricManager. How do I do that?

i wonder if it has something to do with persistent FC ID.

If the device is not logged into the switch, it's persistent fcid can be purged through CLI command 'purge fcdomain fcid vsan x'.

To purge in FM, expand out the VSAN (top left window), go to Domain Manager-->Persistent Setup--> tick the 'Purge' box and press Apply Changes button.

Stellr got it right. When I have either removed hosts or replaced HBAs, the only way I have found to remove the objects from the GUI (the CLI of course is not an issue) is to right-click on the topology map and select Purge Down Elements.

Of course I am finding that the java GUI, like a lot of java based GUIs, is not always up to date. The CLI is always reliable.
