ARIFur - I am guessing but are you saying that the switch port is alternating between connected and unconnected? What is the frequency of these messages - are they happening every few minutes or less frequently?

What is connected to this port (a server, a storage unit, another switch?) and are you seeing any error messages on the attached platform? This could be important depending on the setting if you are trying to force this to a certain port type instead of allowing it to auto-sense its mode.

If you could also confirm the switch you are referencing (a Cisco switch, a McData switch, etc?) that would be helpful in trying to assist you.

This isn't the best area of the forum where to post questions regd an ED48000 connected to an host .. however if you try the following command:

    DIR11:admin> portlogdumpport 00

you'll see an output that looks like the following.. In the following output you have the output for port 00 .. your port is different so please change the command accordingly.

    09:32:26.501 PORT Rx 0 40 02fffffd,00fffffd,1b16ffff,14000000
    09:32:26.501 PORT Tx 0 0 c0fffffd,00fffffd,1b161b21,00000001
    09:32:26.501 FCPH read 0 40 02fffffd,00fffffd,22380000,02eb0000,1b161b21
    09:32:28.080 PORT Rx 0 20 02fffc0b,00fffc0d,1b31ffff,44000000
    09:32:28.080 PORT Tx 0 0 c0fffc0d,00fffc0b,1b3118f4,00000001
    09:32:28.080 FCPH read 0 20 02fffc0b,00fffc0d,22380000,03710000,1b3118f4
    09:32:28.080 FSSK msg 0 0 0002001b,0000006b,00000000,UPDA
    09:32:30.943 FSSK msg 0 0 0002000a,0000002f,00000000,UPDA * 6

It's difficult to translate the messages in something usefull .. There is a manual on the messages (please be prepared to read a 100+ pages manual) :D

If you want you can post the messages here .. hopefully someone may help you.

First of all... you should have posted this in the "Infrastructure/Connectivity" section, but now that you're here: I've seen this many times and many times it can be resolved by enabling the port, perhaps setting the port speed to a fixed speed, for example 4Gb or 2Gb instead of N (negotiate) and I've even seen it go away after disabling the port and bringing it back up after that.

Is this issue still related to your ports ??

I can't really understand what are you talking about .. If this issue is different from the original one, please open a new thread.

If you received good answers to your original question, considere marking the thread as "Answered" and give points to good answers. :D
