DD HW power supply failure test

Hi

We had a UAT for DD. One of the test was on the power redundancy. It was successful, however when one of the power supply is offline, there is no amber light in the front DD panel. Is it suppose to be like that? Shouldn't it reflect the failure too?

Please advise if any of you has observed this or the notification is not proper. Thanks.

    It depends on which Data Domain system you have. Some trigger the amber system alert when a power supply loses it's ac power and some do not.

    Hi

    thanks for the reply.  the DD on site is DD2500.

    Does this come with visual amber light alert? 

    Is there a reason why some have and some don't?

    The DD2500 is one of the systems that does not alert upon AC power loss of a power supply.

    The other systems are the new DD2200 and the DD140, 160, 610, 620 and 630 systems.

    I don't know why these systems do not alert thru the front LED while other systems do.
