DD2500 - 10Gig interfaces
We recently purchased a couple DD2500's that have built-in 10gbase-t ports that use rj-45 interfaces. We have a Cisco 10gig network, but Cisco does not offer 10Gig rj-45 modules for any of their products. My question is, what are these built-in ports on the DD2500 supposed to be used for? Is the only option to buy an additional 10gig I/O module?

As Dynamox says there are switches that support 10000BaseT but I can appreciate that it's not a cost effective way to make use of the 10Gbe we have built in. I'm actually yet to see anyone make use of them at 10Gbe but it's good that we are ready for when it becomes more common place to have 10BaseT.
They will run at 1Gbe, incase you still want to use them in some way.
But as you say, for you it will be more cost effective to purchase the 10Gbe option cards; copper or optical.

Thanks for the quick reply and suggestion. Unfortunately, that's a big purchase just to connect one device to our existing network. We were looking to connect to a Catalyst 4500X or fabric interconnect 6296.
