If you use DDBoost, then you should also be able to take advantage of DD Boost automatic replication (however that might depend on level of integration with your application; NetBackup and NetWorker can do it for sure, not sure with Veeam as I didn't work with it).

With DDBoost you have managed file replication.  Of course, the other side should have DDBoost enabled as well.

I was about to say directory replication so it might be better for someone from DD group to comment this (unless there is already white paper which discusses this).

Why not create a second Boost Repository on remote DD and replicate with Veeam Backup Copy. Since Veeam can not handle optimized Replication yet (i hope). Id would make sense to do it directly with Veeam because you have allready access to the Repository in case of a disaster.

i have my customer with veeam8 and two DD640 and ddboost license.

old implementation use cifs share and replicate without problem, now i want to implement DDBoost.

On production DD i have created the storage unit correctly, but are not possible to replicate this with the DD replication, because if i use the Mtree replication, on my DR Datadomain can't able to create the ddboost storage unit with same name.

how i can replicate the storage unit to my secondary DD?

i find the solution to replicate DDboost with veeam.

on primary DD configure DDboost and create the storage unit.

on secondary DD enable the DDboost without create storage unit

on same DD create a MTree replication to secondary data domain (look on secondary data domain if the Mtrre are created correctly)

after replication word correctly, connect with SSH on secondary DD and run this command:

ddboost storage-unit "name storage unit" modify user "username"

after run this command on secondary DD the storage unit are create automaticaly, and from veeam connect StorageUnit for restore.(map the "Import Backup" during the creation on repository).

Ran into the same issue as everyone else.  Below is the proper command line information to make the changes with the latest DDOS.  All you need to do is modify the 'MTREE NAME' and 'DDBoost User' variables below and you should be good to go.

1. Login to the secondary Data Domain via SSH

2. Run the following command: ddboost storage-unit modify "MTREE NAME" user "DDBoost User"

3. You should receive confirmation that the command ran successfully and you can exit out of the SSH connection
