v6.3 Best Practices

I have heard a rumor that the maximum recommended drives managed by a single Dx server is now 3.

The v6.3 Best  practices manual indicates 5 with minimal performance hits whereas 7 is the absolute maximum.

Anybody have documented  recommendations or real world input?

Don't fall for those rumors , you have the guide

BP not to go more than seven , but "it depends" on your server , number of files in each drive, how many ED are active ? but from what i experienced and also documented in the BP guide is to have three or fewer active drives ..

how many processors you have ? how many number of files ?? are all ED are active there ??
