There are 8 possible ports to have connected on the back of the MD3200i, 4 ports per Raid controller...The IP address you enter will depend on which RAID controller is the preferred owner of the Data Store you are pointing to. Does that make sense?

I was going to be asking this same question, but I'll add to this discussion instead.

The Deployment Guide makes no reference to a second controller or the fact that there are 8 ip addresses (4 per controller) assigned to the MD32xxi (MD3220i in my case).

I'll admit, I'm on vSphere 4.0 so I may be missing something that's available in 4.1, but what IP addresses do I need to enter as autodiscovery targets in the iSCSI target server list on the vSphere software initiator so that volumes homed to either controller are seen and accessible from the ESX nodes?

After a long discussion with a dell tech support, it's appear the tech don't know really what ip can i enter.
So I enter the 8 ip addresses in the discovery menu.

When performing an iSCSI discovery you only need to put in one of the iSCSI port addresses. The discovery does a sendtargets command that will provide the initiator with all of the iSCSI port information.
