snapshots deleted
hello,
We have several volumes on our equallogic, the snapshot reserve is set to 30%. Every evening we create snapshots (schedule) of the volume, but limit to max 5 snapshots and delete older...
Suddenly our equallogic decided to delete 5 snapshots of a volume, jus during the day. I would suggest that this would be done at the moment the snapshots are created (in the evening, scheduled).
What is the reason that those snapshots were deleted during the day ?
I am rather new to equallogic, so maybe i am missing something..

Yes, it might be possible under certain conditions. If the snapshot reserve space is low (you have exceeded the 30%), the array could delete snapshots even though the schedule to create snapshots is different than when the snapshot was deleted. Check the event log for when the snaps were deleted, you should also see an event that the reserve space was low as well (you may need to use the “more” button at the top of the log to see further back in time). You may need to increase your snapshot reserve.
