Dvd drive not working
When I place a DVD in the CD ROM tray there's a whirling noise for a couple of seconds and then silence. No picture or audio from the DVD. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. But, I found out that all I needed to do was clean the cd.

Do you have a software program that allows you to watch movies, I assume that is what you are driving at. Did the DVD ever work? And while we are at it what is the exact model of your system? Also run diagnostics (F12 immediately at boot) and watch for any optical drive errors.
