Hello Dell Community. I am having some trouble with my Laptop Latitude 3340. When I connect an external monitor by HDMI (an LG 23MP55) the brightness of the screen of the second monitor randomly (apparently) gets darker. After a few seconds, the brightness return to its original value. But is really annoying.
I am running my laptop in Ubuntu 16.04. I believe that this problem may be related to my OS, but I could not solve it yet. So I thought, maybe, the problem could be related with some Dell Configuration. I hope you can help me in some way,
Hi, I just had a similar issue with my laptop. For some reason (even though I'm plugged in right now) the monitor was stuck in energy saver mode. I clicked on the battery charging icon on the bottom right of my screen, and clicked on the energy saver button. It was showing as though it was toggled off but when I pressed it the screen got brighter and the energy saver button remained grey (meaning off).
Probably a software issue but it's an easy fix. Hope this helps!

Go to...
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings
There is a dim feature. You can change that and see if it helps.
