Hello - I know this discussion goes way back, and on many laptops. I am about ready to toss this E6530 out the window! it will not run the wireless internet and the network RJ45 at the same time. ..WHY!? Is there a setting i am missing? there are no conflicts in the devise manager.
running WIN7 64bit
this is more or less a new install. Is there something wrong with the motherboard?
general networking is also a pain with this computer.. nothing but grief to set up a network to other computers.
unfortunately.. none of this worked. if the wifi is on, the RJ45 port is dead. Ive found no switch that separates the 2. we need the wifi for the internet. the rj45 for hooking to other computers. If we hook the RJ45 to a docking port the wifi shuts off. This wasn't an issue with our D830s. Everything is updated on this computer, which makes me believe there is something wrong with the motherboard.. A google search indicates this is a rampant problem with DELL laptops.
can someone from dell just give us a direct answer? It would be better if we knew that this can not be fixed, so we can move on to another brand computer.
