POST fail, no boot, no beeps, dead in the water
Mostly happy owner of a Dell Precision m3800 Developer Edition. As of 08/04/15, this device no longer boots. At power-on, there's no bootsplash, no beeps and it shuts down after 7 seconds. Same behavior on AC or fully charged battery.
I've pampered and babied this thing. Haven't dropped or dunked it. Made no changes that would account for this behavior.
If it matters: OS is Ubuntustudio 14.04.2 and I'm in Beijing.
Advice? Guidance? Help?

Hi Seattlechaz.
If the rig doesn't complete post, that's a hardware issue of some kind, which belongs to DELL support.
If the machine is in warranty, just call them and tell them about it.
In any case, you will probably be asked to run two diagnostic tests:
Built in diags: Hold Fn down while turning on the system, diagnostics should start automatically, if it is able to run. Even if it fails to run, it may give some blink codes from the status leds of the machine. Make note of everything and inform tech support.
Display test: Hold D-key down while turning on the system: Display should cycle through all binary filter states (all open = white, all closed = black, red open = red, blue open = blue, green open = green). In some instances this can also remove faulty current from display, so it can solve some no post issues. In either case, this is something tech support will want to know.
Hope you get your baby fixed.
