touchpad not fully functional after upgrade to 13.10 & new kernel 13.12
After solving problem with touchscreen described in another thread,

now the touchPAD isn't working well for scrolling. Buttons & pointing work, but when I try to set scroll bar behavior in system settings or with unity tweak, don't get full touchpad controls (like I do in 12.04). Is there another driver I need for the touchpad (now that I got the touchscreen working).
Thanks for any clues.

Did you have any joy with the 'blacklist' trick from the previous solution?

Sorry but I don't understand the question :( not sure what is blacklist, or which previous solution you mean. Looked back through previous thread about touchscreen & looked again at blog about downloading latest 3.12 kernel, but didn't see anything about blacklist. In any case, haven't resolved the touchpad scroll problem yet, so any more clues appreciated. Thanks!

In the terminal, type:
sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_i2c_hid.conf
then type the following into that file:
blacklist i2c_hid
Save, exit and restart and you should be done.

Thank you! I followed your instructions about the blacklist file, and yay, the touchpad works in 13.10, and with Unity Tweak I was able to configure edge scroll (vs 2finger). So far, every question I've asked in this forum has gotten solved, and I really appreciate the help. Someday maybe there will be a question I can answer ;) (don't hold your breath hehehe). Thanks again, and happy Sputniking to all :)

It works but it disabled touchscreen on XPS 12 9Q33.
