Hi All,

I have an Alienware Aurora with a Radeon HD 5870 and I'm currently using the most up-to-date Dell driver (8.66).

I just got Deus Ex: Human Revolution and when I try to start it with DX11, Direct3D crashes and tells me to change my settings.  Now conventional wisdom (and the Eidos forums) tell me to update my video card driver.  The most current Dell driver is from 10/09 while the most current driver from ATI was released 8/17/11.  I uninstalled my current driver and installed the new one, but my resolution became all messed up.  The whole monitor was not being used despite setting my resolution to the maximum setting.  Returning to the Dell driver fixed the problem, but I don't know where to go from here.

What was the point of buying a top-of-the-line gaming rig if I'm forced to depend on 2 year old video drivers?  Is there any way to upgrade to a new driver without having these compatibility issues?
