Updating BIOS can help in fixing the issue, to update the BIOS visit the following website and follow the below mentioned steps: http://dell.to/Qnizfs

1. Click the above link, enter the Service tag of the computer in the box provided and click “Submit”.
2. In the next page, click drop down arrow to select the Operating System which is installed in the computer.
3. Under category BIOS, click “Get driver” and save the file on desktop.
4. Ensure to connect the AC Adapter to the computer, run the BIOS file.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the BIOS.
6. Restart the computer when prompted.

Please check the functionality of the system and reply.

I turned my PC on today to find my fans running at 100% speed, I went to the thermal controls to turn them down on the manual setting and they are now stuck at 55%, anything I change doesn't change the speed of the fans, I put it to auto mode and it says at 55%, when I change the speed in the manual mode and apply it nothing happens?   Anyone know how to stop this because the fan is very loud and is not working properly?

Shut-down machine properly so it will turn off. Unplug from wall or UPS. Hold down power button for 20 seconds to dissipate any electricity in machine and MIO-Board. Wait another 20 secs before powering up. See if that very simple procedure resets MIO-Board.

Go into Thermal Controller. Verify it is reading sensor temps and System Fan speed (should be around 1200 rpm)

Set other fan speeds to Manual, click the other fans,  Use Curve, drag dots to make it look like a uphill line from left to right.

click OK, and Apply.

Ok, well ... no one suggested you do that.  

But since you did,   you have to do it properly before we can start working on Command Center/Thermal Controller/MIO-Board again.

See my Favorite Thread #1 to get your Windows-7 either Recovered (from Dell Partition) or Clean Installed from scratch again. Then, come back here and we can continue working on MIO-Board problems.

I solved this by installed alienware command center for the ***R4*** line of computer which works JUST FINE on an r3... it set my sensor board back up and everything is fine

I had the SAME EXACT ISSUE.. fans to 100% then stuck at 55%.. unable to control fans.. lights etc... the ONLY thing that fixed it, is I grabbed control center for an r4 and put it on my r3.. works just fine....

I have NO idea why dell doesn't put this updated version up for the r3s to DL and use

Good. Yes, any 2.x CC release should install and work on Aurora R3.

Now, if you got the new CC v3.x to install on an Aurora R3 running Win8.1-64 ... that would be interesting because others have posted that it will only install on an R4 and x51 (desktops currently named as officially supported for Win8.1).

As far as the File Download areas ... what you are seeing has always been standard Dell practice once a machine is replaced by a newer model. So, thanks for the posting.

Might be because you are running modified BIOS.
