XTUService Error

I've noticed these errors all over my event logs - any time I reboot the PC, this happens. I don't OC my machine, and don't remember ever even running the xtu utility. This error looks rather concerning. What is this/what should I do about it?

I don't remember checking the logs, but I DO remember it not working. There was some talk of a new version (but I don't OC) ... so I don't know if that ever happened.

I just uninstalled it. As I remember it was in 2 pieces.

Thanks for the info. So it is safe to uninstall this? I prefer to get rid of any bloatware whenever possible. Along those lines, is it safe to disable or uninstall alienware fusion? I just want to make sure the thermal controls will still work.

Eh, I don't care about it working since I don't OC - just wanted to know if it was safe to remove as I didn't want to mess up clock settings or whatever (lol, I'm a bit clueless on that stuff.)

Also, okay to disable alienware fusion? It throws errors quite a bit, too.

    Thanks again!

Didn't Dell remove XTU because it stopped working. I think I recall that and we are waiting on a 2.1 version..or something like that.

If you rollback your BIOS to AO3 it will work again but with AO8 it throws errors

Yeah its safe to remove the XTU. I keep the fusion disabled too since its redundent and harder to use then the windows power options on my task bar.

I never seemed to have any issue with the XTU crashing. I don't use it. But, I have not removed it either. I overclock via the bios.
