Sounds like the memory is not compatible with the Dimension 2400.

The maximum memory that can be installed in the Dimension 2400, is 2gb [2 x 1gb modules].

For the system, it's still the same 2gb [2 x 1gb modules].

If you are refering to a PCI graphics card, look for a card with memory of either 512mb, or 1gb

The Dimension 2400 motherboard does not support any PCI Express x16 graphics cards, only PCI cards similar to PCI cards, shown HERE
