Increasing Memory?
My Dimension 3000 with a P4 2.8 Ghz.CPU has 512 MB of memory. I believe that, in general, adding memory is the single best thing to do to improve performance. Crucial's Web site says I can put in TWO 1 Gigabyte memory modules (matched set, of course); Kingston says to put ONE (only) 1 Gigabyte memory module. The Dimension 3000 Manual says maximum memory is 2 GB. That's TWO against ONE. Two new modules would cost around $100, so I don't want to spend the money foolishly, especially, if there's a chance something will backfire. Whaddya think?

Believe Crucial and the Dell Dimension 3000 specifications, the 3000 does support 2gb [2 x 1gb modules] of DDR memory.
Plus Crucial guarantees their memory to be compatible with your system.
