You could ring Dell and ask if they have any in the spare parts departement, or try looking on Ebay, apart from that, i don't know any other vendor that will do the replacement other than pcpowercooling...

To answer your other question, yes you will be able to replace it yourself, its probably one of the easiest upgrades, as there are no drivers or anything, just a screw or 2 and unplugging cables, thats it...

I've found them a bit difficult to deal with.  First, they want to know why you want the part, which I told them wasn't relavent.  Then, they insisted that I get a part number from Tech Support.  When I relayed this information to Tech Support they referred me back to Spare Parts Department.  However, after seveal emails they finally did give me a couple of part numbers.

If you are going to try a third party, then you must be sure that your Dell model will accept an industry standard power supply, or find a supplier who will supply a Dell specific power supply.  I understand that even some Dell models that can use an industry standard power supply may need some modification to the case to make it fit properly.

First check your powercord for damage, then the 3 pin plug on the powersupply. Most powersupplies are fused and should not cause such a large electrical disturbance. If you need a new powersupply, you can get an adapter to use a standard ATX powersupply in the 4100. Look under OEM Replacement here:

Hi,

Did you try a different power cord since the problem occured, it may just be a blown fuse, thats what happened to mine when we had a blackout the other week... worth a look :)

I think there are  a couple of links for sources for the adapter further down in this thread.
