No Boot Device Detected: System Halted
I have a 2 1/2 yr. old Dimension 4400. For the last year or so, it has often generated the following message when re-booting: "No Boot Device Detected: System Halted". I ran Dell Diagnostics and found no errors. Any suggestions or ideas would be most welcome.

Yes. I'm using a RAID card and the RAID array is being detected in the CMOS setup.- uncle-buck,
There are several things that could be going on here. Your RAID card could be failing, it could simply need to be reseated, one of the hard drives or data cables could be failing or require reseating or the PCI slot the RAID card is in could be flaking out. First thing I'd do if I were you is reseat the card and the drive cables both on the card and on the drives themselves. If your RAID card has its own diagnostics you should run them to test the card's functionality. uncle-buck

Thanks. I will try your suggestions. FYI, the PC was exhibiting the same problem before I installed the RAID card - so I'm wondering if it might be the system board.
