no volume

I'm hoping someone can help me. After having a sonic wall installed (so that I would be able to connect with my computer at work) and then uninstalling it because they could not make it work, I no longer have any volume. I have received a message stating that the Volume Control Program not installed. Help!!! Thanks

Can you do a system restore to a time before this happened?  If not, and if this is XP, try this:

I'm having a problem with my sound (none) and in the process of checking things out I found the following, which should help you:

    • click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices
    • click Sounds and Audio Devices
    • click Hardware tab
    • double-click the name of your CD drive (should be high lighted)
    • click Properties tab
    • check the Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device box

Along the way you can also adjust the volume up when you come across the volume control slide adjustment.

I hope this helped you.  u2livedb4@juno.com
