Optiplex 380 MT GPU update
Hi I have the above model, core 2 due E7500, 4GB RAM - everything as standard. I am looking to put a graphics card and understand that I am limited on the power supply but wondered whether the Nvidia GeForce GT 635 would be suitable as it runs off low power.
I'm doing this for my son as he is into light gaming (Sonic mostly) and this card will run those games for him adequately until he is old enough for an upgrade at least :emotion-2:
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Mandy

Thanks Kelbear1, I was getting the card from a friends computer which is why I could get hold of it.
I ordered a new Corsair PSU yesterday, after checking the measurements around a 100 times - lol. It should fit and comes with all the relevant connections - I then have more choice of GPU's so that I can find one that lasts him a couple of years which by then I can build him a new system (building from scratch is easier than modifying/upgrading a pre built system in my experience.
Thanks for all the help and advice.

Hi mandy,
Dell Optiplex 380 is configured with 255 watts PSU (Power Supply Unit) but Nvidia GeForce GT 635 video card requires 350 watts and above PSU. Please upgrade the power supply on the system to use the video card.
