Go to Start - Programs, and look on the list for Real Player. It should also show up in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

I personally like WMP 7 better than Real Player, because it seems to be less invasive, but some people don't care for it's bulk. Works fine for me, though.

There is no problem having both on your system.

I brought up the issue of possibly using Real Player, because I attempted to listen to an audio news report and it gave me a message to the effect that VMP 7 could not "read" the format that the audio report used. Any suggestions?

If the media is in Real format, you'll be forced to use their funky player to listen to it. One of the radio stations I listen to requires that I have the player, although that's about the only thing I use it for. Actually, it works pretty well. You just have to go into View - Preferences, and uncheck "Load Start Center," as well as telling it not to take over all the rest of your sound functions, like it has a fondness for doing. It also helps to go to Upgrade Tab, Media Types, Re-associate, and make sure it hasn't taken over all Audio functions, if you haven't told it NO!!! during all the silly questions it asks you on installation. The important thing is that you don't need it running in the background all the time, and occupying your system tray like it tries to do. It'll work just fine in an On Demand Only capacity, and will not be hogging resources that way.
