6 Beeps and computer doesn't boot. Studio 1555
Hello, I'm new to this community. I joined just today to ask a question regarding a problem that I have with my Studio 1555. Its about 3 years old and has an ATI Mobility Radeon 4570 (256 MB) and has been working fine till today. As soon as I switch it on I keep hearing 6 beeps then a short interval and 6 more beeps and so on. The laptop isn't starting. I read somewhere in these forums that it could be due to problems in the video card. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with the issue. Thanks. Kartik

Hey Elijah, Thank you very much for your reply. So even though it's an ATI mobility radeon card, it is integrated similar to Intel's integrated graphics cards? Sorry if the question doesn't make sense, I'm a bit new to computer hardware and I'm just trying to learn things. Also, I'm currently out of warranty, how much will it cost me to replace the motherboard? Thanks, KartikHellRaiserTM

Thank you very much ejn63 and Elijah. I'll change my motherboard as soon as possible then. Thanks.
Hello, I am currently having the same problem with my studio 1555. I don't wish to replace the motherboard, because it is very costly for me to order one in. So I want to just use the intel graphics for my studio 1555. How do I do that when I can't boot to windows?

Intel's GPU circuitry is part of the processor now -- the ATI is a discrete chip soldered to the system board.
The board will run about $230 (see below); if you have a pro replace it, figure on another $100 - 150 in labor charges.
