Battry Replacement

I have ordered a new battery(Dell) for my Inspiron notebook 8200, the battry came with a note that says you may need to update your bios. Is this necessary and how exactly do you do this. I looked at bios updates for the 8200 and there are nine, how do you know which one?

Try the new battery without the update - unless you then have problems, don't bother upgrading.

If you must upgrade, use the newest one and DO NOT USE THE WINDOWS version - use the one that creates a boot floppy and do the flash from that (boot the system from the floppy you create with the BIOS updater file).
