Blank Screen

Please help me.  I turned on my Inspiron 6000 this morning and now all I have is a blank screen.  I tried turning the computer on and off to see if that changed anything but nothing comes up.  I ran the fn+power option to see if that would fix anything and it did not.  Does anyone have any advice?

Alittle more information would be nice. Do you see the power light, hd light or battery light turn on? If it does have you tried connecting your laptop to an external monitor?

The power light does turn on.  No I have not tried an external monitor.  The dell symbol comes up and then something flashes at the top of the screen and then nothing.

You might try pulling out the ram stick one at a time to test if one or more are defective. My computer had a blank screen and it was caused by a defective ram stick. After I pulled out the defective stick, my computer started to work immediately.

How would I do that?  I've been trying the trouble shooting on Dell's site but they have run me into a circle and now there suggestions don't work.  I tried to get safe mode to start and could not.

unscrew the panel underneath your laptop and pull both ram sticks. Then put one back in and see if your computer works. Then the other. Hopefully one will make your computer screen not show up as you've been having. That's the bad one.
