computer shutdown - ispiron 5100

Hi, i have a ispiron 5100 and my computer shuts down all the time. Is it the battery or something. I have the ac adapter pluged in. The bottom of the labtop gets very hot too. is it that is overheats or something. please help!

    Yes it is definitely overheating. You need to either blow compressed air through the rear vent so the dust comes out (the dust causes the overheating), or send it to dell so they replace the Fan, thermal compound and clean it for you. There are numerous cases of this happening.
