Dell Latitude D830 - Flash cache module
Hello from Germany!
Im running two D830 and one Precision Laptop M65. Now I want to install the internal flash:

Got some questions about that:
1) can I use 4 GB modules in D830 and M65?
2) is Windows 7 supported
3) how much more is the speed after installing the modules?

Welcome to the Forums
So for the D830 max sizes listed for the flash cache memory is 512mb and one gyg cards. Theoretically, just as long as the card fit in the socket up to 4 gygs it should work. Vista is the only officially OS supported with the D830. I haven't tried it myself but Win 7 may work fine with the system.
The FCM on the M6500 is equivalent to SSD/HDD functionality. So yeah 4 gygs should be fine. The mobile workstation has full support for Windows 7.
