DELL Memory Selector

I tried to use Dell's Memory Selector for an INSPIRON N5010 but to my surprise, the Tool can't find that model. And I did use the Service Tag number but it still couldn't find it. Really? Dell's Memory Tool can't find memory for a Dell computer? It's not like I'm requesting RAM memory for a Gateway, a Toshiba or a Mac. It's a DELL, for the love of GOD!

Anyone had this same inexcusable problem?:emotion-43:

    Hi iotriton65,

Currently we do not have memory available for this particular model on Dell Website. However, the Inspiron N5010 system has 2 SODIMM slots. The system accepts a memory capacity ranging from 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB. The memory type accepted is DDR3 1333 MHz SODIMM only. The computer supports a maximum of 8GB of memory when installed with two 4GB DIMMs.

    Hi iotriton65,

Thank you for the information. I will take this as a feedback and report it to the concerned team.

Also, please reply us with the snapshot of the error message so that I can check on it.

Thanks for your reply but I must correct you on something. Only that model with i7 uses DDR3 1333MHz. The i3 and i5 use DDR3 1066MHz (Dell Manual). If they don't have memory available for my system, fine with me but that wasn't my complaint. My real gripe is that out of hand, Dell's memory tool can't find my Dell model. A memory tool shouldn't work like that for it's to help/guide you to decide which memory module is best for you. And even if Dell's Website doesn't have it, it can still show you the memory modules compatible with your system. If they don't have it, a they're not in stock would suffice. How in the world Dell's site can't find my model? The memory tool is programmed wrong for it should find my system, bought in April 2011(at Dell's Website), not in April 1998. And again, it's a DELL PC, not a Lenovo, Toshiba, ASUS, Apple Mac, it's a DELL.

Am I angry? Of course I am! Dell is acting worse than Apple. No wonder Lenovo is kicking both Dell and HP Derrières. But thank you for trying to help...
