help with problems with E1705

A while ago, I was getting a blank screen when starting my laptop, I took my laptop to a computer store here in town and they identified it as the motherboard as I suspected. So I got a replacement motherboard and installed it and had my laptop running and noticed that I was getting some graphical glitches. I immediatly was like oh I just need to update drivers, so I went to my windows update and installed the drivers they had for me. After a restart I started cleaning up my laptop and installing antivirus and spyware protection and I installed ik8fangui. I then noticed that my cpu was going up into the 80 degree mark and was like duh thermal paste, so I immediately shut my laptop down and went and bought the stuff the next day. That night I cleaned off the heatsink and everything and applied my paste. I finished up and put my laptop back together and then my laptop wouldnt even start up. I took it back apart again making sure that I had everything connected and when I flipped it back on, it booted up the Dell splash screen and then went blank after that. I then switched around the RAM and it booted up to a weird error message about system information (I didnt get this before when I had it running) and then I had to hit F1 to continue. It then went to loading vista screen and then went black. I shut it down then started it back up again and got nothing. I went back through ram to make sure it was installed right and it was so I left it alone the rest of the night. The next morning I took out my RAM and put in my old 1gb Dell stick and it started up completely but I am getting graphic glitches all over the place, even on the Dell splash screen but i was able to still logon and everything, and then the screen went blank and didnt recover. I shut it down again and turned it back on and I am back to the loading windows vista screen then a blank screen. Then I left it for about 10 min, turned it back on and didnt get any glitches till I got to my desktop and then it went blank again and didnt recover. So I know I have bad ram sticks and prob a bad vid card. but there has to be something else wrong with it because it works at one point and doesnt work at another point and I have not clue why. Any ideas

Your video card needs to be replaced.

do you think that was the original problem with my orignial motherboard or that it was a combined problem of motherboard and video card since it worked partially with the new motherboard
