Go to SolutionLatitude E6440 mSATA support
Has anybody physically tried mSATA SSD in 3rd mini card slot (mini PCI-E slot above WWAN) on Latitude E6440? I'd not find any straightforward answer and even the Premiere Support has not confirm neither contradict using mSATA SSD in this notebook. Thanks for factual answers in advance...

Hi Sleeve22,
How can you make the mSSD work? I installed but the windows do not recognize. I used Windows 7 Ent. Thank you.
- Sleeve22, hope you'll have no problem, becasue I've managed to successfuly install full heigth mSATA drive (e.g. Samsung 840 EVO) to 3rd mini card slot (WWAN), which is visible only after removing base corner caps not just the base cover. After two weeks of testinting I can unquestionably confirm there is no problem to use mSATA drive on Latitude E6440. What a great notebook :)

I have tried and it works perfectly. I currently have an msata SSD as my main boot drive, and then have a smaller 2.5 SSD from a few years back for extra storage.
