NEW ROUTER

I  am trying to speed up my wireless connection to my inspiron e1405, I purchased a dlink wireless n router and a notebook adapter. I don't think i need the adapter? does this router speed up my wireless connection? am I moving in the wrong direction?

    Do you have wireless card in your notebook that is capable of using the n type of wireless?  If you not, then you will need the adapter that you bought to communicate with the n router.
     
    The n system will definately be faster than a 802.11b or g system for transfering files throughout your home network - ie transferring files from one computer to another.
     
    If you are trying to speed up your Internet connection, it will not help.
