I seem to have a touchpad that is beginning to wear after a couple years of use. All the functions of the touchpad still work fine. The issue is that the center of the pad has a different feel to it--sort of a "stickiness" rather than a gliding feel. When viewed at an angle I can see the pad is shinier (is that a word?) in the center.

I initially thought the pad might have dirt/oil built up on it. But after a couple attempts at cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol, I have concluded that it is actually wearing through the first surface.

Is there any way to replace just the touchpad on the Inspiron 8200? I've seen complete replacements for the palm rest and pad, but don't need new palm rests.
