Is there a "burn in" period for this monitor (1704FPT)?

 

Does it eventually get dimmer?

 

Out of the box and connected to a Radeon 9200 via DVI, it is way too bright.

 

I have dialed down the brightness to 0 and it is still pretty hot.  The graphics card is running at its defaults.

 

I have a 1901FPT running off a Rad9800 and I have the brightness set to 60 and it is way darker (better) than the 1704 set to 0?

 

What up wit dat?

 

I have done a factory reset and hit auto adjust as outlined in the troubleshooting portion of the manual, but it's no help.  I have yet to install the Dell specific driver, but I don't see how that could make any difference.

 

Ideas welcomed... well constructive ones at least...
