2005fpw problems
About two days ago I noticed some purple vertical lines against the background of one of the boxes on the side of a windows explorer box. Having just updated my Nvidia drivers.. I thought they could be the issue.. so I switched back to my previous drivers.. and its still happening.. and now its happening in my games as well.
I read the post about the ATI and Nvidia problems.. although I have an Nvidia card (GeForce 6600 GT) I have more of the ATI issues.. with artifacts on my screen.. sometimes vertical.. like when i'm browing the dell forums it looks as if the monitor is refreshing and it drives me nuts. This is a new problem.. when I first got the monitor it was fine. When I play World of WarCraft I keep getting purple lines across some graphics.
In order to narrow down exactly what it was.. I used another DVI cable and hooked it upto my secondary computer, same issues. I then used the normal D-SUB cables and the problem hasn't showed up.. and having the Dell 2005FPW.. I have both my DVI and D-SUB hooked up and I can quickly switch between the two to compare. It's only an issue with my DVI display on the monitor.
I'd really like some advice on what to do. I payed quite a bit of money for a great monitor.. and I expect it to work well. I've only had it 4 months and now I'm having all these issues with it.
I probably should have seen this coming when I noticed my first dead pixel a few weeks ago. Even though the monitor arrived with no dead pixels.
What can I do?
