Once your are in the display properties in the control panel you can click the settings tab. From there click Advanced | Adapter or Monitor (you can change both) you will then see where to change the refresh rate. You may need to try different settings to get the flickering to stop.

Can you click on the button that reads "list all modes"?

I have tried to do that and there is only one option to choose from which is the option that makes my monitor flicker. On another post someone told me to do something involving going into safe mode and task manager but the person never responded further so I was never able to get that method to work.

Try this : Download the below driver cleaner and keep it handy, un-install the old driver in Add/Remove, than use the driver cleaner twice. Than  re-install the video driver for that video card, follow its instructions and than go back into Display Properties and set the resolution and check the modes again.

I tried to uninstall my the driver but when I clicked on it in add/remove I got an error that said

Error Loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvistnt.dll

The specified module could not be found

Any ideas what that could mean? Would cleaning the driver while it's still on my computer do anything? Thanks for your help.
