Monitor Issues

hello all!
I have a Dimension E510 desktop, with a Dell 19" flat monitor. Today, when I turned on my computer, I noticed small lines that look like numbers in vertical rows, sporadically appearing on my monitor. Sometimes they are red, sometimes a blue-green in color.
Does anyone know what is causing this and if so, could you please tell me what I need to do?
I would really appreciate it as it is extremely aggravating. My computer is not even a year old yet.

    It sounds like your LCD is broken. If it's still under warranty, you should try to get a replacement. Usually DELL sends a replacement before you ship yours.
