S-IPS Panels 22" +
Hello,
I am looking for a display in the 22" and above range probably more like the 24" but I need an S-IPS panel in that I have just recently got into photo editing and I've heard those are the best kind for my needs. Does Dell make any S-IPS panels and if so which ones. I found the manual for the new 2408FWP but it doesn't say what kind of panel it is unless I am just missing it.
Any advise would be appreciated.

- Have a look at the links on this thread.
Dell does not officially state what panels are used in their monitors, and some models use more than one. For example the 2007FP and 2007WFP use Samsung S-PVA panels as well as LG.Philips S-IPS ones.
This post suggests that the 2408WFP might use a S-IPS. If it turns out to be true Dell won't be able to keep up with the demand ;) - Hmmmm this is rather disturbing to me that it's more like "Luck of The Draw" in what type panel you're getting. I guess I'll just have to buy the comptuer from Dell and the monitor from somewhere that states the type panel. That's too bad really.I would have preferred to buy the whole package from Dell.Oh well.Thanks for the response...it's was indeed helpful.Paula
- It's become known as the "Panel Lottery", but other manufacturers swap panels too - notably HP and Samsung.

Also LG does have a 24" S-IPS.
I doubt Dell is selling S-IPS at 699.00 USD but if they are it will be hard to keep in stock.
