U2413, USB upstream cable question

Hi,

Is the factory USB 3.0 A-B upstream cable special or can it be replaced with any commercially available cable?

I recently bought a used monitor like this but there was no any cable with it.

I'd like to do some hardware calibration with "X-rite i1display pro" and the "Dell XRITE Monitor Application" from Dell's support page but the application always have connection problem.

I've read lot of forum threads about this problem, tried lots of app versions , usb cable/port variations but nothing helped.

I did this thing before calibration:

  • The monitor set to Factory Defaults in the OSD (On Screen Display). Look for Other Settings- Factory Reset- Reset All Settings
  • In Color Settings change from Standard to Color Space
  • The monitor USB upstream cable connected to the computer USB port. Upstream cable is a commercial one: Delock USB 3.0 cable (A/B, 3m)
  • Tried with USB 2.0 A/B cable also, same result
  • DP 1.2 disabled in the monitor OSD
  • Monitor connected with HDMI
  • The Xrite i1Display Pro device tested in TWO ways:
    • Test it on all of the monitor bottom USB downstream ports --> Xrite i1Display Pro got power but the software couldn't see it
    • Test it connected directly to the computer USB port --> Software see it
  • Inserted SD card into the monitor's card reader, nothing happens

Thank you all suggestions

    * It needs to be USB 3.0. Some of them are only USB 2.0.
    * Dell has never tested 3m/9.8ft cabling with any of our monitors. The U2413 cable is 1.8m/5.9ft

    DDC/CI must be Enabled in the Menu- Other Settings.

    Hi,  I bought an 1.8m USB 3.0 A/B cable, but still no connection.

    If I put USB stick or SD card into the monitor it cannot seen in the list of disk drivers.

    Also there is no change in the Device manager Universal Serial Bus controller node.

    I've tried several ports in my laptop, all of them is USB 3, one of them is power USB.

    DDC/CI is enabled.

    Any suggestion?

    It could just be a faulty U2413. What is the build date on the rear label?

    OK. Last step would be this no cable/power button reset to see if it helps =

    * Turn the computer off
    * Turn the U2413 off
    * Disconnect every cable (including the power cable) from the U2413
    * Press the U2413 power button in for 8 seconds (clears any residual power in the circuits)
    * Reconnect the power cable and one video cable to the U2413 and computer
    * Turn the computer on, then the U2413 and retest
