I recently purchased a Dell U3419W and everything worked out of the box. I was happy with my dual monitor setup until out of nowhere and with no tell -my U3419W monitor suddenly stopped working. It just displays a black screen and sometimes vertical lines. I know that when I press the monitor buttons although it doesn't show the settings on the display- I know that it's there. I've even tested it myself -when I was messing around with the settings, I was receiving a response from the monitor. The problem is that nothing is able to display. I cannot see anything. My computer does recognize the monitor, I can move my mouse into that monitor window but I just won't be able to see anything happening.
Here's my computer specs: OS: Windows 10 Pro CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x Motherboard: TUF GAMING x570-PLUS (WIFI) Ram: 16gb GPU: MSI GT710
My gpu can support 1 HDMI port that I'm using for my Dell U3419W monitor and a DVI port that has an HDMI/DVI cable- which is what I'm using to support my 27" Dell monitor. I'm going to see if my HDMI cable that I'm using for my 34" monitor is perhaps the problem or is it instead driver issues. This whole issue began when Windows 10 failed to shut down properly.
"This whole issue began when Windows 10 failed to shut down properly."
That could point to an issue with the operating system or the 2016 MSI GT 710 driver.
* Turn all three off (PC, U3419W, other monitor) * Disconnect the power cable from the PC * Disconnect all monitor cabling from the PC * Reconnect ONLY the U3419W to the MSI GT 710 via the provided HDMI to HDMI cable * Reconnect the power cable to the PC * Turn the PC on, then the U3419W
Thank you for replying. I attempted and did as you instructed but nothing worked. My U3419W was the only monitor plugged in so when I turned on my pc and then the monitor, I was greeted with a black screen and then a light-grey screen with vertical lines going across the screen. Perhaps I'm wrong but it does seem like my GPU is treating both of my monitors as one even though the pc recognizes (sometimes) that they're 2 monitors plugged in.
I have already installed the latest drivers for my graphics card and motherboard and for both the monitors. When I got my monitors they both worked just fine. Today I tried doing a windows restore but it didn't do anything to fix my issue either.
