name of the saveset: NMCASA:/gst_on_server/logto_gst
message: 24050 savepsm: ECHEC de IM002 0 [Microsoft][ODBC Manager] Data S[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no defalut driver specified
NMC is on windows Server 2008 , Networker 7.6.1
what does this mean and what can i do for solve this problem ?
The save set name represetns the NMC (Sybase) database. However this is an alias, not the path to the directory.
Because it is active it must be baqcked up wit a specific agent. The name of the program is 'savepsm'.
I assume that you have moved the NMC database to another directory and NW assumes them in the default directory which you specified during the installation procedure. I am not sure how to overcome this. I would try the following:
- shutdown the NMC service (gstd)
- uninstall NMC - this will leave the database behind
- remove the folder structure under the new directory
- copy the old structure to the new location
- run NMC install again specifying the new pathname
Reinstalling NMC may probably resolve this problem.
You can also open the properties of the client resource of NMC server and check whether both short name and long name are in the Aliases field on the Globals (1 of 2) field.
If not, add it and make sure Hosts file also contains both short name and long name of NMC server.
You can check that the saveset matches the correct NMC server name.
When you first open NMC, you should go to setup:
Ensure that the NW server name and client name are correct in terms of short name or FQDN, and if NMC is not the NW server itself, then ensure that the client created automatically also matches the FQDN or short name.
Also ensure you tick the box "Create client resource on this server" so that the client gets created automatically with the correct saveset name.

Unfortunately you cannot merge these dataabases.
