unable to restore successfuly backuped database

this is the situation:
sql 2000 enetrprise runing on w2k3. server is a storage node 7.4.2 (anyway i do not think this has anything to do with the problem)
networker server is 7.4.2. sql module for networker is 5.1.
when i try to run a restore i get retryable network error: program not registered in the xbsa.messages on the client side. i am taking backups of the databases without any problems.
any idea what could be the reason of unsuccessfull restores? i tried an old and also a recent database restore with the same results.

- i have found the solution. the restore needs to be ran under the same account the SQL cluster is running on which is quite strange for me. i would expect that any user with SQL right should be able to restore any database to the server he has the rights on...
