Does anyone know if there's a way to backup only the local copy of a DFS replicated volume?

Backups of a DFS volume are extremely slow because it keeps trying to backup data from both DFS endpoints. It's a 4mb/s link between sites and the backup will take a week at that speed. Replication only goes one way so I only need to get a backup of the source copy.

I've tried naming the volume name (D:\) and the ALL-DFSR save sets. Tried the DFSRoot path which captures nothing. Tried explicitly listing all directories in the DFS volume as save sets but it doesn't capture all data.

Is there a way to do this, or do we need to drop DFS services nightly to get a backup of the volume?
